SPEAKER_01:Aloha, welcome to the Livestock Fall Ow, a podcast aimed to provide educational support, information, guidance, and outreach to livestock stakeholders in Hawaii and the rest of the U.S. We are your hosts, Meli Oshiro, and Sand. And today in this mini episode, we're just gonna give you some quick updates about what's going on this month. Um, so let's start with our Hawaii programs. Uh, the first one I think I want to share is the American National Cattle Women are whole the first one is the American National Cattlewomen are holding their region six um and Wired meeting in Hawaii. So if you're not familiar with Wired, that's the women in ranching education and development group, um, which is sort of branched off of the American National Cattle Women's or ANCW. You do not need to be a member in order to um participate, and that is gonna happen April 27th through the 29th. So it's got a couple months for that one, but I did want to share that that's gonna be coming up and the registration and all that information will be at the links in our um show notes. We are gonna be offering a BQA certification on one of the days. So that's gonna be on the third day of the program, April 29th. So do check out the links for more details. We'll share all that with you. And then this month, uh February 20th and 21st, we're gonna be holding a grazing management workshop talking a little bit about starter livestock management in some of the areas and how you can use that in like urban areas um to help reduce fire fuel loads and things like that. And this is with the Kailapa Community Association down in Kauai High. So if you're interested, also we'll include the details for that as well. That's all I got for Hawaii right now. Sounds good.
SPEAKER_00:Sounds good. I gotta be honest, the Women and Egg One sounds like really a lot of fun. So yeah. So in Nebraska and the rest of the West, we have land lease workshops continuing throughout February. You can visit cap.unl.edu to see where those locations are actually at. February 4th, in Binkelman and Imperial, personal and family budgeting workshops are taking place. And then women and ag related as well, at the end of February, February 26th through 27th, we have Nebraska's Women in Ag conference located in Kearney, Nebraska. That'll be a lot of fun. There's a bunch of speakers coming in, lots of chances for education and different workshops and breakout sessions to see.
SPEAKER_01:So that sounds fun. Cool, and our upcoming guest this month is gonna be Jamie Miller from OISC or the Oahu Invasive Species Committee. She'll be talking a bit about the group and what they do and um some other important things that we should know about different plants and things that are out there. Um, and some contacts for those guys. So you have to tune in for that information.
SPEAKER_00:Sounds like fun. Sounds like fun. So, well, make sure to follow us on our social media pages, the Livestock Val Ow and the Livestock Extension Group, if you haven't already.
